The contract microbiology laboratories at Don Whitely Scientific are currently conducting a piece of work for a veterinary pharmaceutical manufacturer. We have been engaged to determine the activity of their antibiotics against Mycoplasma species that cause disease in poultry.
Over the next month we will determine the Minimal Inhibitory Concentrations (MICs) of various antibiotics against Mycoplasma gallisepticum. We have conducted several studies for this customer over the last 10 years, and antibiotic susceptibility testing of Mycoplasma species is one of our core areas of expertise.
Our team of microbiologists, with experience in industrial, pharmaceutical and clinical areas, operate within our purpose-built laboratories using state of the art Whitley Workstations.
In addition to MIC testing, other available services include MBC testing, antimicrobial kill curves, determination of post-antibiotic effect, microbiological assays and in vitro efficacy testing of antimicrobial wound dressings.
